New RAJUK plots deadline April 30

New RAJUK plots deadline April 30

Dhaka, Jan 13 (bdnews24.com) – Aspirants for the Rajuk plots in Purabachal and Uttara will get three more months to apply.

The chairman of the city development authority told bdnews24.com on Tuesday night the deadline for filing application had been extended to April 30.

Shafiqul Islam said application forms could be collected until April 29.

He said the government decided to stretch the time-limit since the target for applications had not been met yet.

It is the second time that the city developer extended the time for dropping application.

On Dec. 17, the time for filing application for the housing plots was extended to Jan. 15.

He added the housing plots were meant for the general people.

As many as 7500 plots of different sizes are there in the two projects.

The government also plans to build 120000 flats for which land has been earmarked.

The housing and public works ministry in a press release on Dec. 15 said applicants for the plots may pay Tk 150 court fees instead of non-judicial stamps for their affidavits.

The decision was taken due to the dearth of Tk 150 non-judicial stamps.

Rajuk had asked applicants to file affidavits using Tk 150 non-judicial stamps, but vendors taking advantage of their scarcity have been selling a Tk 150 stamp for Tk 1000, the press release said.

The officials said the lottery for the rest of the residential

plots of Purbachal project, which accommodates a total of 6,383 plots, will be held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital.

The lottery of the Uttara project, which is situated on the western side of the Uttara Model Town (2nd Phase) Project and houses around 870 plots, will also be held today at the same venue, a Rajuk official told the FE Tuesday.

He said the winners will be picked from applicants mainly in autonomous body people and journalists categories.

However, the winners in MPs, government and semi-government officials and armed forces categories will be chosen on November 15, said the official, without elaborating.

Meanwhile, State Minister for Housing and Public Works Abdul Mannan Khan has already disclosed that the civil servants will be awarded plots on the basis of their service age, experience and salary scale.

In the first phase of the lottery of Purbachal project, held on September 17 last, Rajuk picked up around 1,100 winners in judges, freedom fighters, artistes, sports persons and expatriates categories.

On October 10 last, plots were allocated among 1,175 candidates in businessmen-industrialists, private service holders and lawyers categories in the second phase of lottery.

Around 157,000 people applied for the residential plots in 12 categories after Rajuk had sought applications last year.

Rajuk lottery, scheduled for Wednesday, still awaits approval

Dhaka, Sept 14 (bdnews24.com)—A Rajuk lottery for residential plots in Uttara and Purbachal, scheduled for Wednesday, is yet to receive final approval from the housing and public works ministry.

"Preparations to draw the lottery on Rajuk's behalf are complete, but we cannot finalise the matter without ministry approval," Rajuk's acting chairman Golam Kibria told bdnews24.com on Monday.

Kibria said the lottery would have to be drawn after Eid if no decision was taken on the matter soon.

The lottery for applicants in four categories—'artist', 'judge', 'freedom fighter' and 'expatriate'—are set to be drawn Wednesday.

Rajuk, the capital's development authority, invited applicants to the lottery for Uttara and Purbachal plots last November under a total of thirteen categories.

The authorities firstly set Dec 18 as the deadline for applications and then extended it twice up to Apr 30.

Rajuk figures show a total of 113,000 aspirants for plots under the Purbachal project and 42,000 for plots under the Uttara project in a total of 13 categories.
